Primary School Additions and Renovation
The Yoakum Primary School, built in 1953, is a prime example of mid-century educational architecture. Faced with the need for modern modifications, but desiring to retain the existing historic structure, Yoakum ISD hired RMA to renovate the building with new energy efficient mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and new window fa�ades, and add an 11,400sf classroom wing consisting of six classrooms, a computer lab, and a library. The updated facility retains its original character and scale along its street-front while its renovations enhance functionality and provide much needed additional space.
